it's impossible to mess up a sunset!

My mentor, Patrick Adams, always told me, "it's impossible to mess up a sunset". While he was right, I must add that it takes an observant, thoughtful, and prepared individual to do it right. I've never seen anything quite like it:

Northern Michigan!

Just when I thought that I'd seen all that Michigan has to offer, I was again surprised:

Indianapolis

Over the past weekend, we traveled to Indianapolis for a friend's wedding. Because this was my first time visiting the city, we did a little sight-seeing. Much to my surprise, Indianapolis is a beautiful, clean, and friendly place. Restaurant recommendation for Indianapolis: RAM is a great place to relax with friends. The food and drinks are delicious and they serve the best fried/battered calamari. As far as breakfast/brunch restaurants, we found Le Peep to be healthy, trendy, and delightfully pleasant all around. Iron and Wine Concert at Millenium Park

Iron and Wine played a free concert at Millenium Park Monday evening. It was a great show, packed, and not to mention the sound system at Millenium Park during concerts makes any lawn seat in the park sound magnificent. Very relaxing, and enjoyed by all ages. With the city skyline as a backdrop during this beautiful evening, what more could you want? Check out more upcoming free concerts at Millenium Park's Downtown Sound: New Music Mondays lineup! No more mundane Mondays for me.

Here's a view from my seat on a soft patch of grass:

Spring is Here!

Finally, a day that's warm, sunny, and on my day off!
This morning I went for a walk, determined not to come back without at least one good image.
Here's what I found poking through our fence. "They just couldn't wait", as my sister Nancy put it. I can't wait either--for spring break--to spend more time outside during daylight hours.Forthcoming Daffodils

The highpass function is amazing! It almost works like HDR: Here's a before/after example:
